Refer to Carrier Underwriter

What to do when under 'Bind Options' the main option available is to refer to a carrier underwriter

Applications on the platform may require referral to the carrier, based on either state, business class or answered underwriting questions. When this is needed, the option to 'Refer to Carrier Underwriter' will appear.

Refer to UW 1

When selected, a box will appear in the middle of your screen for notes to be sent to the underwriter. Add any notes at this time, then submit.

Refer to UW 2

The note and application will automatically be sent via our API to the underwriter associated with the Broker ID selected during the quoting process.

Typically, we advise allowing 24-48 hours for the underwriter to reach out to the agent with a resolution. If you have gone beyond this time frame, please defer to your available contacts with your group to be able to reach out to your underwriter.

Reminder: If your policy is referred, then bound off platform, please come back into your platform and mark the application as bound. This will assist with your record keeping
